Rate limits
Quotas and headers returned by the API
Documented in the OpenAPI spec (info.description):
Quotas
| Scope | Limit |
|---|---|
| API | 500 requests / minute |
The quota applies per account (API key), across all IPs. Unauthenticated requests are limited per IP.
429 Too Many Requests
When the limit is exceeded, the API returns 429 with these headers:
| Header | Value |
|---|---|
X-RateLimit-Retry-After | Unix timestamp of reset |
X-RateLimit-Limit | Max requests allowed in the current window |
Recommended strategy
- Compute
Retry-After - now()and wait on the client side - Implement exponential backoff on persistent errors
- For high volumes, prefer alerts + webhooks over polling
